Fitness – The Feminine Feel-Good Factor

If it was a fair world, every woman on this planet would have a figure to die for no matter what she eats and a face as beautiful as Helen of Troy that’s as ageless as time. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided otherwise and so cosmetics, diets and fitness routines made an appearance. A woman’s best friends are her exercise regimen and diet – the closer she sticks to them, the more satisfied and complete she is, not just physically but mentally as well.

It’s not all about perky breasts, a cute behind and legs that go on and on though – exercise is more important to a woman than a man because we and our bodies go through so much more in a lifetime than the male of the species ever will. Read on to see why every woman must make exercise and fitness a high priority in life.

  • We’re the ones who lose our figures and undergo various physiological changes before, during and after childbirth. While the birth of a child is a joy that cannot be replaced, it takes a lot of hard work and effort to get your body back to the condition and shape it was before you conceived. A regular exercise routine not only keeps you healthy and flexible during pregnancy but also helps you recover your stamina faster once you give birth. Consult your physician before you start exercising, both during and after pregnancy.

  • Women who have reached or are nearing menopause and those who have had hysterectomies or oophorectomies (removal of the ovaries) are more susceptible to cardiac diseases and bone ailments like osteoporosis and arthritis because of hormonal imbalances that arise in the body beyond a certain age or after these surgeries. It’s thus important to maintain a fitness regimen that prevents heart attacks and keeps your bones and muscles strong and healthy.

  • Women who are obese or overweight are more prone to cancer of the breast and the reproductive organs. They are also beset by thyroid problems and infertility.

  • A regular exercise routine that allows you to sweat removes toxins from your body and keeps you feeling fresh and young. Your skin feels supple and makes you look much younger than you are.

  • Exercise keeps you stress free and leaves you with enough energy to take care of your home, your spouse, your kids and your job without feeling the onset of a nervous breakdown.

  • Your workout time is your own quality time that allows you moments of peace amidst the madness of a household that demands you constant attention otherwise.

  • And then, last but certainly not the least, there’s the fact that you feel good and get a pick me up without any stimulants each time you fit into a dress a size smaller or when you turn heads on the street.

So go for it ladies, the world and everything in it is yours if you’re fit and feeling good.
