Is Your Nutrition Helping Or Hurting Your Belly Fat?

Nutrition plays an important part in helping you to achieve those strong, sexy abs. You can do all the intervals and ab circuits in the world, but without proper nutrition, you will still never achieve the abs you want.

Things you need to cut out of your diet: processed foods, sugar, fast food, diet sodas and cut back on starchy carbs.

Processed foods are full of junk! Many processed foods are made with trans fats, saturated fats, and large amounts of sodium and sugar, all things that we want to avoid when trying to attain a “six pack”. Replace the processed foods with all natural choices, such as chicken breasts and fresh vegetables.

Sugar raises the insulin level in your body, causing you to gain weight. Insulin promotes the storage of fat, so by eating foods high in sugare, you are increasing your fat storage and for most women, the first place it will settle is in the stomach. If you need to add some form of sweetener to your food or coffee, use stevia- an all natural sweetener.

Fast Food is usually high in fat, calories, cholesterol and sodium. Not only are these things good for achieving sexy abs, but they are not good for you bodies overall health! Why there are some fast foods that might be more beneficial for you body than others, the better choice is just to eat fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins that you prepare yourself.

Diet Sodas are full of artificial sweeteners. These artificial sweeteners confuse people, makeing them think that, “since my diet soda doesn’t have any calories, I can make up for it by eating more of….”. This in turn leads to overeating and fat gain! If you have that craving for a sweet drink, try green tea with some lemon!

Starchy Carbs can lead to more belly fat. It’s not all carbs that will do this, but it’s the more refined and processed carbs, such as white bread and white rice, that do. Cutting out refined carbs and cutting back on the amount of carbs you eat will help you to lose that belly fat. Choose more fibrous carbs such as broccoli, spinach and salads!

By making these better nutrition choices on a daily basis, along with adding in your strength training workouts and intervals, you will start to see your belly fat start to disappear, making room for those strong, sexy abs!
