Tasty Tuesday Recipe
I found this recipe in Oxygen magazine the other day and decided I wanted to try it out! The recipe was for Energy bars…whala! Just what I need! ENERGY!!
I sort of made them into my “own” energy bars, so I will give you the recipe that I used! The ones they had didn’t have a lot of protein in them, so I had to add extra ingredients to get more protein!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup all bran (crushed)
1/8 cup each oat bran and wheat germ
1/8 cup orange juice
1/2 cup mixed dried fruit
1 egg
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup vanilla protein powder
1/8 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup ground almonds and walnuts
Preheat oven to 350, grease pan. Mix all ingredients into bowl (that is just how I do it!) and spread batter in pan. I used a 8×8 pan and got about 16 bars out of it. Bake 15-17 minutes or until done!
These were very moist, not like the other bars I have made before. Almost taste like brownies to me!
Let me know if you try them out, or if you make your OWN variety!

Those sure do look tasty. I really like how versatile energy bars can be when you make them yourself.
